These previous examples are are only a part of the litany of anomalies that scatter through the tennis coaching fraternity. Unfortunately they exist at high coaching levels and are the blight of many a player’s game.
These heretical views will come as a shock to many and indeed there are a few people who would happily burn Brad at the stake if that was allowed under LTA rules! However enlightened players and coaches who have adopted my techniques know that these principles work. Remember, the planet was once ruled as flat!
As proof, he could quote the success he has had with players like Greg Rusedski (who he took from number 90 to number 19 in the world in a single season) or Pat Cash who generously described Brad as “a genius, brilliant, the best in the world at his job”. Brad could reproduce selections from the many articles written about him in the tennis press over the years and he could quote The Times Tennis correspondent who called him “ the sport's leading authority on biomechanics”.
However the best endorsement is from the hundreds of ordinary players that he works with every year none more so than Steve Garcia a player who attended a weekend workshop:
“WOW what a weekend! I had such a fantastic time this weekend that I can hardly describe my feelings. I know this sounds a little over the top but I have felt totally constrained by my erratic serve for 30 years. I now feel that I can serve well every time...and I'm confident that I can use this in matches straight away because my new serve is already much more consistent and effective than my old one. Aside from the general principles Brad taught me, the analysis of my game was outstanding. Waiting for the ball to come to me on my backhand and forehand was something I learned, together with not running at the ball which is related to all my bouncing around. The high forehand volley which has always been a problem was also ironed out; when Brad noticed that I hit it with a straightened arm. But mostly the serve...I can't believe the change...and can't express the emotion and relief I feel about it, a tear in my eye.......life changing really! "
